Scientific and Technical Analysis Group (STAG)The Scientific and Technical Analysis Group is composed of professionals with degrees in the Geosciences or Petroleum Engineering and industry experience. They review the published literature and patents in the areas of petroleum exploration, development and production; and abstract and index those items which will be of lasting interest to the upstream petroleum industry. In general, selections are restricted to new technology in the subject areas covered in Petroleum Abstracts (geology; geochemistry; geophysics; drilling; well logging; well completion and servicing; production of oil and gas; reservoir engineering and recovery methods; pipelining, shipping and storage; alternate fuels and pollution; business and economics; health, safety and environment; and science and engineering). STAG is also supported by several professionals who telecommute and work on a contract basis.
