Administration & Training
The Assistant Director supervises the Adminstration group and coordinates the Petroleum Abstracts training and quality enhancement activities. She also personally conducts the Petroleum Abstracts online database training classes. AdministrationThis group is responsible for the following support functions: administrative assistant duties, acquisitions, file checking and mailing and shipping. Acquisitions:A database of the documents used in the compilation of Petroleum Abstracts is maintained. Each document is logged into the Acquisitions Database with its bibliographic citation, ordering instructions, and other pertinent information. This database provides support for inquiry, ordering, claiming, processing and tracking documents to maintain an orderly flow of materials within Petroleum Abstracts. File Checking:Documents are checked against a file of items previously cited in Petroleum Abstracts in an attempt to avoid duplication of entries.
