PADDS Services and Fees

In addition to drawing on more than 300 international journals and all the other sources covered by Petroleum Abstracts, PADDS can supply copies of documents from The University of Tulsa's library holdings and other document sources. Many petroleum-related articles include color to enhance and clarify their technical presentation. PADDS can provide high-quality, full-color reproductions of these pages in both PDF and paper to capture all of the information in a document.

Notice warning concerning copyright restrictions: The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproduction of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposed in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

PADDS will email, fax or mail the tables of contents from any journals listed in Petroleum Abstracts' List of Publications Reviewed. Tables of contents from conference proceedings covered by PA also are available, and can be sent by email, fax or mail. Select from the Proceedings in Process list of titles.

Miscellaneous Charges

Royalty collection and copyright fees: exact price plus 20%
$5 shelf charge for each item ordered without specifying a PA accesion number, SPE or OTC number or patent number ($3 per item for PA Major Subscribers)
Actual postage or express delivery fee (Federal Express, Airborne or DHL)

Fax Surcharge (per document)

$5 for the first 49 pages, plus $5 for each additional 50-pages increment, plus $0.05 per minute for U.S. and Canada or $0.10 per minute elsewhere

Payment

Prepayment is required for first time customers.
Customers will be invoiced monthly. A deposit account is not required but may be established with an initial deposit of $200 or more.
In compliance with copyright law, PADDS will bill all required royalty charges on monthly invoices, unless the requestor specifies payment will be made by them.
American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit cards are accepted as well as wire transfer. Contact PADDS for wire transfer information.
