Mary Ellen Vedas Elected PA Advisory Council Chair-Elect

Mary Ellen Vedas of Hess Oil in Houston has been elected to the position of chair-elect for Petroleum Abstracts' Industry Advisory Council. She will preside at the council's 2014 meeting. The current chair of the PA Industry Advisory Council is Nicolas Meier of Marathon Oil, who will preside at the council's 2013 meeting. Dates and location for the 2013 advisory council meeting will be announced later this year.

PADDS Introduces Adjustments In Document Delivery Pricing

Effective January 1, 2013, PADDS introduced several price adjustments. The base fee for electronic documents of 50 pages or less remains $16.00; hard-copy documents are $20.00. Page counts over 50 pages will be charged at $0.25 per page instead of a 50-page-increment lump sum as in the past. This change may reduce the cost of some longer documents. All documents of 3 pages or less are now $7.50 whether they are full articles or abstract only. Other labor-intensive fees increased include shelf fees, copying charges for maps and plates, and hard-copy color copies. As always, copyright and royalty fees will be included in PADDS charges as applicable. Turnaround time for document delivery is usually within one business day so no rush fees are charged by PADDS. As a reminder, PADDS accepts most major credit cards and maintains deposit accounts for customers if requested. These services help customers avoid wire transfer fees on their monthly invoices.

Petroleum Abstracts Completes Move to New Primary Location

Petroleum Abstracts completed a move to new offices in 2012. PA's primary location is now in John Rogers Hall on The University of Tulsa campus. The offices of Petroleum Abstracts Document Delivery Service (PADDS) remain in the university's McFarlin Library. Please make sure your records are updated for PA's new primary mailing address:

PA 2013 List of Publications Available by Request in March

PA's annual List of Publications Reviewed will be available to subscribers by request in March 2013, in both paper and pdf format. This publication lists the journals covered by Petroleum Abstracts, alphabetically, by country of publication and by subject coverage. It also lists PA's priority journals and major organizational sources. The 2013 List of Publications Reviewed will be posted on PA's Web site when available.
