The Key Word Out of Context (KWOC) feature is used to quickly search for terms in the Bricks dictionary. A search is initiated by entering one or more words into the search query box on the Bricks webpage. The more words you enter the smaller will be the resulting list. Some index terms contain truncated words due to a space limitation of 26 characters per term. These truncated words are searchable by their fully spelled out form. For example, BENEDICT WEBB RUBIN EQUATN will be returned in the search results for the word EQUATION. An implied wildcard will be appended to each word. If the word ends in an asterisk ("*"), the implied wild card will not apply. You may indicate a leading wildcard character by prepending a "%" to the word. To limit search results to terms beginning with first word of query string, prepend a "^" at the beginning of the string. Index terms meeting the search criteria will be displayed in the search result window on the Bricks webpage. Examples with screenshots are available in the Bricks Users Guide. |
